Greetings in the most precious and Divine Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who has Revealed Himself through the personality of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I, King of Kings Lord of Lords and Conquering Lion from the Tribe of Judah Electeth of God, and True Light of this World. I further greet you through the Orthodox faith which is not a function of writs and rites, laws or vows, but is a metaphysical inward borne conception of a one's heart; in plain words, to be born again. I also greet you through the 12 Tribes of Israel, that were lost and scatttered, but are now regathered and founded by our beloved Brother, the Prophet Gad on the Island of Jamaica and functioning in the 4 corners of the world. Please join me in solemn prayer for the well being and imminent restoration of the Ethiopian Royal family, The House of David, today represented by H.I.H. Crown Prince Zara Yacob Asfa Wossen. LONG LIVE THE PROPHET GAD!
Welcome to my website about my trip to Ethiopia! While I was only able to stay for 10 short days, I was able to see a great deal in that short time and had a wonderful and spiritual adventure in the most ancient homeland of humanity. When I heard from Bro Levi 1st that the Nurses of Israel were returning to Ethiopia in August to run another health fair and to break ground on a new health center I asked him if I could tag along. He told me it would be no problem and to let him know my length of stay and told me some basics about cost and departure date and visa immunization requirements etc. A few weeks before my departure I went to the local travel clinic and when i told the doctor I was going to Ethiopia she highly recommended about 5 shots (which my insurance wouldn't cover) to the tune of $450.00! I figured better safe than sorry as I had read about menegitis outbreaks in Addis and other such tales so I took the shots. As the trip grew closer I had not heard anything about my ticket so I asked Levi and got the name of the travel Agent in Manhatten. I found out that Mariam had me booked to return in 1 month when all I could stay was 2 weeks!. When I asked her to switch it to 2 weeks she said they were booked solid for the rest of the summer. I gotin my car and drove 5 hours to NYC to try and sort this out in person, and to get my visa. On Wednesday she possibly had found me a return flight in 10 days so I took it. Saturday morning I met up with the crew and we headed for Newark International Airporti was on my way to MAMA AFRICA! We flew directly to Rome and refeuled for 45 minutes and arrived the next day in Addis Ababa (which means New Flower) the capitol of Ethiopia. Ironically the NY Times newpaper we got on the plane had an article on Shashamane land and the Rastafarians that live there. The piece had a very negative slant claiming that the Rastas and Ethiopians don't get along at all and that there was heavy tentions between the two groups. I would later go and see for myself whether this held any truth. |
